Lokumki

Lelia ( aunt) Ganlra
1/2 c dry white wine (or whole milk)
2/3 c oil, neutral like canola or sunflower
1 tbs baking powder
2 c flour
1 c pea size cut pieces Turkish Delight
1 c pea size cut pieces walnuts
1 c powdered sugar mixed with
2 ts vanilla powder
Mix together the wine, oil, baking powder, and flour into a soft dough. On a floured surface roll out the dough to a
1/ 4-inch thickness. Cut into one inch squares. Place one piece of each-Turkish delight and walnut in the middle of a square and roll like a cigar. Arrange the cigars with the seam down on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at

350 F for about 20 minutes or until they are blush pink. Remove from oven and while the cookies are sill hot, dust generously with thick layer of powdered sugar/vanilla mixture or roll them in it.
